The increasing complexity of Economics, Energy and Transportation problems, coupled with advances in numerical methods and computer architectures, stimulates the growth and interest of applications of a large amount of different topics: nonlinear optimisation problems, variational inequalities, complementarity problems, equilibrium problems, duality. The INTAS summer school on Nonlinear Analysis, with applications in Economics, Energy, Finance and Transportation (Bergamo, 5-9 June 2006) presented an overview of recent achievements in Variational inequalities and its application to economics equilibrium problems, Complementarity Problems with applications to Energy Markets, Duality and its economics applications, Variational inequalities and its application to transportation problems, Computational aspects.
This volume includes referred papers, carefully selected from the contributions delivered at the INTAS summer school and offers an interesting overview on the production of the young researchers coming both from the European and NIS countries.
